necessity of background checks as well as how small- to mid-sized HR departments
can protect themselves against negligent hiring litigation.
“It’s unfortunate,” says Tom Lawson, CFO of APSCREEN,
“that people don’t realize how one poor hiring decision can ruin their company’s
reputation and bog them down in costly litigation. All too often our customers
