APSCREEN unveils background check educational tools for small- to mid-sized HR departments.

employment background check educational toolsRancho Santa Margarita, CA (PRWEB) March 7, 2006 -- APSCREEN the world’s leading full-service Consumer Reporting Agency since 1980, will unveil a new program to educate businesses about the necessity of background checks as well as how small- to mid-sized HR departments can protect themselves against negligent hiring litigation.

“It’s unfortunate,” says Tom Lawson, CFO of APSCREEN, “that people don’t realize how one poor hiring decision can ruin their company’s reputation and bog them down in costly litigation. All too often our customers come to us after they have had a bad experience. In my opinion, that’s too late.”

Lawson continues, “Employers lose almost four out of every five negligent hiring cases with the average jury plaintiff award being in excess of $1.6 million. Not many companies can sustain those kinds of losses. It’s my mission to let every company in Orange County know that they must be proactive when it comes to their HR Management programs, and that we are doing everything we can to help them understand the legalities they face. We have developed an educational program that is free to the public which we will unveil at two upcoming trade shows.”

The first trade show where APSCREEN will exhibit is the Orange County’s Largest Mixer. The date for this upcoming event is Thursday, March 9 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Map and directions can be located at http://www.largestmixer.com/ocmixer

The next event is the Relationship Building Network (RBN) Expo scheduled for Tuesday, March 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Atrium Hotel, across from the Orange County Airport, 18700 MacArthur Blvd., Irvine, CA. More information about this event can be located at http://www.rbninfo.com

Businesses are encouraged to come to the APSCREEN booth at either exhibit and to learn more about how to obtain the educational information as well as pick up a free report entitled “Employment Background Checks; What You Need to Know Before You Hire Anyone.” Companies also need to know that background checks don’t have to be expensive. It’s critical to let experts show you how to do the best possible job.

APSCREEN, founded in 1980 is the originator of the modern-day factual employment-screening concept. Other services include tenant screening and employee locates. Tom Lawson, CII, is also a certified fraud examiner, expert witness and is a founding member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners and holds key positions in several national trade associations.
